Camryn Haworth Goes Big Ten With IU
It’s always difficult to make a decision about the next big step in your playing/academic career, and can sometime be made more difficult the younger that you decide to commit. What if you change your mind? What if circumstances or coaches change? A lot goes into that decision-making process, but by deliberately putting yourself in a position to make the best decision for you and the future of your career through careful planning, many conversations, and continued focus on performance, Camryn Haworth was able to choose Indiana University as the place to further her career!
Anyone who follows college volleyball knows that the Big Ten conference is one of, if not the most competitive conferences in the country every year. That certainly played into Haworth’s decision.
“I chose IU because of the coaches and the competitive conference,” said Haworth. “I made my decision by taking visits and evaluating all my options. When I started, I wasn’t sure what I was looking for in a school and program. After visiting a few, I began to create a list of characteristics that I began to measure against.”
It helps that the major & career field she is looking into, medical, is one of the strongest education paths that IU has at their disposal. But that’s not the most exciting part for Haworth.
“I am most excited for the all of the friends I will make and the opportunity to train and play at the highest level of college volleyball,” she explained.
Team Indiana was pivotal in helping Haworth find the best fit, with help from both the recruiting coordinator, Michelle Coleman, and all of her coaches. Of course, she puts in the work day in and day out to make sure that she’s prepared for the next steps.
“My inner drive to be the best that I can be keeps me coming to the gym ready to make myself and my team better,” said Haworth. “I hope that this effort and attitude will allow me to contribute to the success of my college team right away.”
Congratulations, Camryn! Everyone in #TINation is extremely proud of you!
