Whitney Weidenbenner is new this season at TI! She has been playing and coaching both volleyball and softball since age 9. Growing up near St. Louis, she spent all her free time on the court with her mother, who cofounded and directed a local volleyball club. After high school, she put away her (competitive) knee pads when she chose to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering at Purdue University, where she graduated in the Spring of 2019.
Whitney’s coaching career spans nearly 8 years. She began assistant coaching by the age of 16 for 11s and 12s age groups. Throughout high school and college, she helped coach a variety of age groups and levels, as well as host various clinics and private lessons. After college, she moved to Indianapolis and began coaching elite level volleyball locally for the Academy. She is extremely excited to be making the move to Team Indiana!
Outside of volleyball, Whitney is a Water Resources Engineer. She spends her days designing distribution systems and treatment plants for Wessler Engineering. She also volunteers for several nonprofits; promoting youth and women’s STEM as well as clean water solutions worldwide.
