As a Coach:
Berg has been an assistant at Team Indiana since 2017. Prior to his arrival he coached as a volunteer assistant at Saint Francis University in Fort Wayne, 18-2 Performance Plus head coach in Fort Wayne, and spent two years as an assistant with Bishop Chatard High School.
As a Player:
Berg graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School in Fort Wayne in 2005 where he made All-City honors in 2003-2005 and All-State honors in 2004.
Berg walked on to play as a middle at Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne where he played 3 years for the Mastodons, earning a scholarship his senior year. In 2007, he and the Mastodons competed for the Division I National Championship, finishing as National runners up. His senior season, Berg finished ranked in the top 50 in the nation in blocks per game. He was recognized as a member of the Academic All-Conference team each of his 3 seasons. In 2016, he was inducted into the IPFW Hall of Fame.
Berg continues to play competitively, focusing more on the beach game than indoors. On weekends when he isn’t coaching, he’s travelling around the Midwest competing for a bid to the AVP.
Real Life:
Berg works as an environmental specialist for Citizens Energy Group. He volunteers as a tree tender with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful leading tree plantings and neighborhood cleanups.
