Brief info

Gene is entering his 8thyear of coaching volleyball; this is his second season as a Team Indiana head coach.

In 2018, Gene coached his first season as the varsity assistant coach at North Central High School. Prior to coaching at North Central, he coached 6 years as the head coach at Tindley Collegiate Academy (middle school) and 6 years as the assistant coach at Charles A. Tindley Accelerated High School (simultaneously). While at Tindley, his teams won 4 sectional championships, 2 Regional Championships, and 2 Semi-State appearances.

Gene was a 3-sport athlete at Cathedral High School and went on to play 4 years of football at Butler University. He graduated with a BS in Physics from Butler, BS in Mechanical Engineering from IUPUI, and an MBA from Indiana Tech.

Gene is also known for his hobby of 35 years as DJ Gitlive. He has been married to his wife Alicia for 16 years; they have 3 daughters together who all play volleyball.
