Brian Stahly has been playing volleyball for more than 30 years and coaching for 20 years.
Brian joined the Team Indiana coaching staff in 2004. He also serves as the freshmen girls volleyball coach and an assistant varsity coach at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis (2001-2012 and 2015-present). In 2017, he started running Brebeuf’s boys volleyball program. Brian was the assistant men’s volleyball coach at Ramapo College in New Jersey from 1998-2000.
Brian has played on teams in both the Garden Empire and Michiana USA Volleyball regions, leading him to the USA Volleyball Adult Open Championships in Columbus, Ohio, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Brian also played in the AVA Sand National Championships in Santa Barbara, California.
While in the U.S. Navy from 1993 to 1997, Brian was stationed in Japan and played on three teams overseas: the Yokosuka Naval Base team, USS Independence team and SRF Japanese team, which included both American and Japanese players.
An Indianapolis native and Warren Central High School alum, Brian graduated from Montclair State University in New Jersey and is a former English teacher at North Central High School. Brian and his wife Sonja live in Carmel with their two sons, 14-year-old Gavin and 12-year- old Tristan.
